Trés Jolie is a country restaurant and venue in the Ruimsig area of Gauteng. Located on a 5 hectare property it is characterised by exquisite gardens and landscaped with fountains and water features this picturesque restaurant also boasts a farmyard where children can feed the animals, enjoy a pony ride and play whilst under the watchful eye of their parents

Tres Jolie, meaning very pretty in French, started in September 2005 when two single mothers, Adele and Lizette, bought Plot 22 Peter Road to start a kids party venue. Roland joined the ladies in March 2007 when he married the venue, rather when he married Adele.

In 2008 Lizette left the partnership and Roland sold his financial planning business to focus all his energy on transforming Tres Jolie from a kids party venue into a fully-fledged Restaurant, Function and Wedding Venue. Roland and Adele, both Chartered Accountants by profession, were assisted in the early days by four special individuals, Bryan, Bernard, Tanya and Numsa.

Tres Jolie is a miracle and a testimony to God’s grace in that it was built by a group of people who had absolutely no training or experience in the hospitality industry.

Today

Tres Jolie today is an established venue; Roland and Adele have gained experience and grey hair and built a team of special, dedicated individuals from various disciplines within the hospitality industry. Adele now focuses on running the accounting and wedding side of the business and Roland is behind the scenes.

The key members of our team are:

Alex Calvert
General Manager

A trained chef with extensive management experience both locally and in the UK. He joined at the beginning of 2012 and has been instrumental in implementing systems and procedures. He is fondly known as Mr No-Hair

Bernard Singo
Banqueting Manager

Bernie started as a waiter in 2006. A more hardworking, dedicated and loyal person would be difficult to find. As the business grew he grew and was always there to take on the challenge.

Jarred Ison
Head Chef and Kitchen Manager

J-Rod joined in October 2012, by his own admission cooking is his passion and managing is something he has to do.

Roxanne Visser
Wedding Coordinator

Roxy joined in early 2013, she has been a co-ordinator for 4 years and has worked previously at Avianto and Cabanga.

Bernadette van Staden
Wedding Coordinator

Bernadette is the newest of the team, after completing a diploma in Hotel Management she decided weddings where her passion.

Gloria Chuma
Function Coordinator

Sis G started working at Tres Jolie in 2010 but she has gained extensive and varied experience in the hospitality industry over the last 10 years, working her way from the kitchen to co-ordinating.

Josephine Masvingise
Restaurant Manager & Kids Party Coordinator

Josie joined as a waiter in 2010 and within 6 months she took responsibility of the kids parties and earlier this year for the restaurant as well.
