Yolanda Janse van Vuuren
Since joining LabourNet 5 years ago, I have grown from strength to strength holding positions within Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Training and Development and finally as an HR Manager within the LabourNet West Rand branch.
Within my role as HR Manager I strive to mentor and manage my team in such a way to constantly increase our branch revenue, expand personal networks and grow as professionals. We also pride ourselves by our community outreach initiatives where we always aim to give back to the community.
I am currently also part of the ROCCI Executive Committee where I aim to positively contribute with my expertise within the Labour Portfolio.
I aim to be part of an organisation where I have the autonomy to carry out tasks to the best of my ability. I would appreciate an experienced mentor so that I can continue to grow and learn as a professional.
Gerard has been practising as an attorney in Roodepoort since 1994, having previously served as a Public Prosecutor and a Magistrate.
Gerard specialises in civil litigation and has the rights of appearance in the High Court as well as being admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
Although Gerard spends most of his time dealing with civil litigation and appearing in Court, his preferred field of work is Alternative Dispute Resolution, namely Mediation and Arbitration, since litigation is not only extremely costly, but also having regard to the congestion in our civil courts at present.
During 2000 after qualifying as an Arbitrator with the Gerard founded the West Rand Mediation and Arbitration premises at No. 28 Rex Street, Rodepoort which is directly across the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs
I joined the South African Police Services in 1992 after matriculating from Afrikaans Hoerskool Kroonstad. This had always be a dream to serve the people of South African. I completed my police training at Pretoria College and was then sent to Roodepoort Police Station as Constable in the Detective Branch.
Over the years I have been posted in various departments/units within the SAPS, including the Detective Branch, Client Service Centre, Crime Prevention, Social Crime Prevention, Sector Policing and Communications (Media Liaison Officer).
I have been involved in numerous projects (creating crime awareness, social upliftment etc.) over the years including working with the CPF, NGO’s, churches, schools and other stake holders.
I strive to uphold the Vision and Mission of the SAPS and to assist in creating a safe and secure environment for all.
